O-Rings are essentially rubber gaskets that are used in mechanical engineering and the automotive industry for sealing two parts together to prevent water or oil egress. In use the O-Ring or oil seal undergoes deformation to make sure the seal is tight and no leakage can occur. They are manufactured using either injection moulding or compression moulding techniques.
